Solo International Ethnic Music (SIEM) Festival and Conference was taken place on September 1st until 5th, 2007 in Vastenburg Castle, Solo, Indonesia. This music festival was followed by some countries. They are Netherland, Iraq, Greek, Australia, Korea, Bengal, India, Philippine, and Indonesia. Indonesia was the host of this occasion. Indonesia showed ethnical music from Papua, Kalimantan, Padang Panjang, Makassar, Bandung, Madura, Palu, Aceh, and Solo. This festival was performed at night. It began at 8 o’clock. The unique location (castle that build by Netherland colonizer many years ago) which was supported by the representative stage, good lighting, and fine sound system made each performance absolutely exciting. The audiences were very enthusiastic to see this festival. Actually, the audiences were not the Solonese people only, but they are also people coming from other towns. We hope the same occasion will be held again in Solo in another time.
Here are some photos about the Solo International Ethnic Music Festival that I took on the last day, September 5th, 2007.
